Do any of you like to re-read your favorite books? That's what I have been up to this week...and the reason no reviews...oops. Sorry guys! But I seriously love to re-read! I glean so much the second time around. I get more emotional and the over all experience is amazing for me. It is really comfortable.
I just finished Catching Fire tonight. Oh my goodness I love this book. This series really does it for me. That Peeta makes my heart swell!
I'm looking forward to re-reading Fablehaven by Brandon Mull again as well as Can You Keep a Secret & The Undomestic Goddess by Sophie Kinsella.
Do any of you like to re-read? What can't you wait to pick up again?
I like to reread seasonal favourites. In the summer I just have to reread Midsummer Night's Dream, or else it doesn't feel like summer!
ReplyDeleteI like to reread seasonal favourites. In the summer I just have to reread Midsummer Night's Dream, or else it doesn't feel like summer!
ReplyDeleteI'm a notorious re-reader! I always end up revisiting Harry Potter (at least one of the books once a year), Bridge to Terabithia and The Last Vampire series by Christopher Pike.
ReplyDeleteRight now I'm most excited to re-read The Demon's Lexicon by Sarah Rees Brennan and The Forest of Hands and Teeth by Carrie Ryan - but I'll wait until closer to when the sequels are being released =)
I very rarely re-read. I think it's because my list is so long. I always talk so much about my favs that I guess I don't feel like I have to re-read. WHere the red fern grows is my all time favorite kids book and I have re-read that one several times.
ReplyDeletethose darn dogs get me every time!
I definitely re-read...I can re-read the Shopaholic series with no problem!
ReplyDeleteI'm not a re-reader. There are so many books I haven't read yet, so I can't justify re-reading... unless I've completely forgotten a book that I know I liked. Then it's sort of like reading a new book.
ReplyDeleteI agree w/ La Coccinelle. There so many books to look forward 2 :D
ReplyDeleteThe hunger games series is awesome!
I'm a total re-reader. I've reread the Betsy-Tacy series by Maud Hart Lovelace at least a dozen times. I'm looking forward to rereading Shanna Swendson's "Enchanted, Inc." series. And I read "Rose in Bloom" once every year or so. It's so cozy to curl up with a familiar book. Like visiting with an old friend.
ReplyDeleteI like re-reading Jane Eyre!
ReplyDeleteI love re-reading!! I wish I did more of it, especially with the gobs and gobs of books I've got piling up around my house. I need more bookshelves! When I re-read, I regularly go for Pride & Prejudice, Life of Pi, Eat Pray Love, and I went through the Twilight series about seven times (to the point where I can't stomach the thought of reading them again for a long while). :)
ReplyDeleteI do re-read, but usually on a piece-meal basis. Always read my favorite parts of various books. L.M. Montgomery are my favorites for that. Anyone could tell where my favorite parts of "Blue Castle" are because the books literally fell apart on those places.
ReplyDeleteI am unfortunately at a point where there are so many new things I want to read that I feel guilty spending time on other books. And even though the guilt doesn't really go away, I still LOVE my re-reading experiences. This year it was a joy to re-read "The Giver" for the first time in 15 years. And I'm currently re-reading (listening) to the HP series and loving it!
I knew I wasn't alone in being a re-reader, but this post makes me feel a little less guilty! :-)
I love to re-read! When I don't have anything to read and can't buy anything either, I just pick up a book I know I liked on my bookshelf and read it again. I also always gain more insight the second time around, and there's always a sentence or two I missed! You should see my copy of Twilight... :)
ReplyDeleteI re-read piecemeal as well, my favorite parts of my favorite books, almost like a lullaby sometimes to comfort me.
ReplyDeleteI love re-reading.
ReplyDeleteCatching Fire was SO amazing wasn't it?
I love re reading! Each Christmas I re read my favourite Cecilia Ahern book, Where Rainbows End, and each Autum I read all the Christina Jones series about Fiddlesticks - they are fab!
ReplyDeletexxx
I always re-read what I keep on my shelves. This week I picked up a new copy of The House of Seven Gables and a new copy of Virginia Woolf, so I am working through them again.
