Bookish Confessions

I have a few confessions to make. I hope I don't scare you away. Or maybe you are just like me? What are your bookish confessions?

  1. I started this blog to recommend books to my friends/family. I still get great satisfaction when they come to me for recommendations. Even more when they take the time to tell me they loved it.
  2. I asked for a book light for my first Christmas with my husband. It was the only gift I got and I loved it.
  3. I have to buy books in three's. It's a magic number.
  4. I hate dust jackets. I take them off when reading.
  5. No matter if I don't have any money, I can always find some for a book I want.
  6. It breaks my heart when people tell me they hate reading.
  7. I only keep books I'll re-read over and over. I donate everything else to friends, family, the library, you name it.
  8. I'm obsessed with my Kindle. It is my most favorite possession I've ever owned.
  9. Sometimes I'll be telling a story to someone and I will mix up an experience I've had with something I've read in a book.
  10. I hate breaking the spine on my books. I'm super careful not to crack it even a little. I want my books in pristine condition. Another reason I love my Kindle so much.

  1. Number 9 made me lol, because I do the same thing! I once told a friend who was moving to Seattle that she was lucky because she could go see the Chinooks play (the Chinooks being the fictional Seattle hockey team in the Rachel Gibson series). Doh.

  3. I remove dust jackets too. I don't see how people read with them on!

  5. I just got a Kindle and I'm totally obsessed too. But I'm the oppisite in one regard - I love cracking the spine.

  6. Three is a special number for me, though I don't always buy books in 3s.. but NEVER get one
I am dabbling with 1 (for the same reasons)
I ask for amazon gifts cards to feed my kindle addiction
4,5,6,7,8,10 are right on the money.
I really like hardcover...but the large scale paper backs are my favorite
Books I REALLY love, I own in kindle and book form (sometimes both hardcover and large paperback)

  8. I don't get people who hate reading. I understand not having time to read or having a tough time finding books you like. I don't get people who don't enjoy reading.

  9. Number 9 is hilarious!! I don't think I've ever done! How weird!

"oh, whoops, that wasn't me! That was so-and-so from That One Book!" Way too funny!

I don't have many bookish confessions really. I too love my Kindle and I get books mixed up between other series that are alike but never with my own life! :)

  10. I can't understand how someone can say they hate to read, either. I always tell people who say they don't like to read that they just haven't found the right books yet. I truly believe everyone can find a type of book or an author that they enjoy!

  13. I have to take the dust jackets off my books when I'm reading them too, but it's more because I don't want them to get messed up. I can't stand cracking the spine either. Great list!

    Check out my TTT.
